New Jewelry Pieces

Over the weekend I felt crafty, so I made a couple of necklaces.  I love making jewelry, especially necklaces.  Necklaces really add to an outfit.  A cute necklace can dress up a t-shirt.

This necklace was inspired by scrapbooking techniques.  The letters, flower and star are actually scrapbooking supplies.  I used wire wrapping.  The wire is just plain ol' galvanized steel (24 gauge).  I like the antique look of it.

The Water Lily

Class Journal

OMG! It's been almost a year since I've posted something crafty. I made this journal for a Creative Writing class I'm taking. I used a composition book from the 99Cents Store. I covered it with gesso, then layered on the paint. I finished it up with a mixture of acrylic and chipboard letters and rub-ons. I love orange and pink together. I was going for the look of an East Indian sari. I love the bold colors of India.

Front cover.

Front and back covers.

Chipboard, acrylic and sticker lettering. I dabbed a little paint on the C and W. The acrylic letters were clear and the stickers were white, but I colored them with alcohol ink.

Corner decorated with rub-on.
